Africa Travel Risk Brief.
Ten pages covering 19 countries, from Nigeria, the DRC, Kenya and Somalia to Ghana, Angola, Tanzania, Egypt and the UAE: current official advice, the main risks, what to expect on arrival, entry rules for South African passports, and eight checks for every trip.
Best suited to
Wine estates, large rural land, distribution sites, and properties with long boundaries or many outbuildings.
Belgian Malinois and other certified working dogs, each worked by a registered, PSIRA-graded handler.
Who looks after the dogs?
ONE provides full veterinary care, feeding and welfare for every dog, in line with the Performing Animals Protection Act.
What is the difference between tracking and man trailing?
Tracking follows the ground disturbance a person leaves as they move, which is ideal across open land and vineyards. Man trailing follows one specific person by their individual scent, even across roads and busy areas.
Where are K9 teams most useful?
On wine estates, large rural land, distribution sites and properties with long boundaries or many outbuildings, where a dog covers ground and detects intruders faster than an officer alone.

2. What we collect and why
Enquiry form
Name, phone number, email address, the service you are interested in and your message. Used to respond to you and, if you ask, to prepare a quotation.
Site assessment
Your contact details, the location, type and size of the property, existing security measures, recent incidents and the people on site. Used to plan and carry out the assessment and to quote. Because this describes how a property is protected, we treat it as confidential security information.
Technical call-outs
Name, contact details, property address, the system and the fault you describe. Used to arrange and carry out the call-out.
Job applications
Name, contact details, the role, years of experience, PSIRA grade and firearm competency. Used to assess your application. If you are shortlisted, we verify your PSIRA registration and run background checks, which may include a criminal record check.
Range leaderboard
The name you enter and your score. These are shown publicly on the leaderboard, so use a first name or nickname if you prefer.
Supplying information is voluntary. If you leave out required fields we may not be able to respond, assess your property or consider your application.
3. Our legal basis
We process your information with your consent, which you give by ticking the box on each form, and where it is needed to take steps towards a contract you have asked about (POPIA section 11). Background and criminal record checks on applicants are done with the applicant's consent and to meet our obligations under the Private Security Industry Regulation Act 56 of 2001 and the Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000 (POPIA sections 26 and 27, and 33 for criminal behaviour).
4. Who we share it with
Only our own staff who need it to deal with your request. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.
We use service providers (operators) for website hosting, form storage, email, and advertising and website measurement (Google Ads and Google Analytics). They may only process your information on our instructions and must keep it secure (POPIA sections 20 and 21). For recruitment checks, we share applicant details with PSIRA and with accredited background-screening providers. We disclose information to SAPS or other authorities only where the law requires it.
5. Information sent outside South Africa
Some of our hosting and email providers may store data on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, we only use providers bound by laws or written agreements that give protection substantially similar to POPIA (section 72).
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to a contract
12 months, then deleted.
Site assessments and quotations
For as long as the quotation or any resulting contract runs, and up to 5 years afterwards where tax or other law requires us to keep records.
Unsuccessful job applications
12 months, so we can contact you about future roles, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Criminal record results are deleted once the check is complete.
Leaderboard entries
Until you ask us to remove them.
7. How we protect it
Access is limited to the staff who need it and is protected by passwords and access controls. We handle site assessment details with the same discipline as client safe words, access codes and key holder lists. If we believe your information has been accessed without authorisation, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA section 22 requires.
8. Marketing
We will not send you marketing unless you are a client or have asked for it, and every message will tell you how to opt out (POPIA section 69).
9. Cookies and browser storage
We use two Google measurement tools. The Google Ads tag tells us when someone who clicked one of our Google ads goes on to send an enquiry or tap a phone number, so we can see which ads work. Google Analytics tells us, in aggregate, how many people visit, how they found us, which pages and services they look at, and which forms they send, so we can improve the site. Neither tool receives the content of the forms you send us. These tools set Google cookies in your browser for this purpose. We do not allow ad personalisation. You can object at any time: the button below switches the Google Ads and Analytics cookies off on this device and saves that choice in your browser (the saved setting contains no personal information). You can also clear cookies in your browser settings.
10. Your rights
You may ask us, free of charge, to confirm whether we hold personal information about you and to see it, to correct or delete it, to stop using it or object to how we use it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already done. Send your request to the Information Officer above. We will respond within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Requests for records under the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA) can be sent to the same address. Our PAIA manual is available on request.
11. Complaints
Please contact our Information Officer first so we can put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa:
This website is not intended for anyone under 18, and job applicants must be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect children's information through it.
13. Changes
We will update this notice when our practices change and show the new date at the top.
We use a Google Ads cookie to measure which of our ads bring enquiries, only if you allow it. Your details are only used to respond to you, in line with POPIA. Privacy notice
